The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers more than 100 undergraduate majors and minors, giving students the flexibility to tailor their education to their interests and goals. Students may pursue a single major, add a minor, declare a double major, or complete a dual degree.

## Majors and Degree Programs

The University Catalog is the official source for [undergraduate majors](https://catalog.uconn.edu/undergraduate/liberal-arts-sciences/#programstext), degree requirements, and academic policies. Refer students to the catalog for the most current program requirements.

### Declaring or Changing a Major

Students use the [online program change form](https://undergraduate.clas.uconn.edu/academics/declare/) to declare a CLAS major or change from one CLAS major to another.

The system can also be used by students in another school or college who are changing into CLAS. However, this form cannot be used to declare a double major or dual degree.

### Declaring a Double Major

Students who wish to complete two CLAS majors must submit the [Double Major Declaration Form](https://undergraduate-clas.media.uconn.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/4264/2026/08/Double-Major-Declaration-Form_UConnCLAS.pdf). Before submitting the form to the CLAS Academic Services Center for final approval, students must obtain approval from both academic departments.

A student may complete a maximum of two majors within a single degree. Students who wish to complete three majors within the College must declare a dual degree.

### Declaring a Dual Degree

Students pursuing two bachelor’s degrees — either in two different schools or colleges or two degree programs within CLAS — must complete the [Additional Degree Petition](https://registrar.uconn.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/1604/2017/08/Additional-Degree-Petition-Form.pdf). The petition must be completed and approved before it is submitted to the CLAS Academic Services Center for the appropriate dean’s signature.

## Minors

CLAS students may complete a minor in any UConn school or college. Visit the University Catalog website for a [complete list of available minors](https://catalog.uconn.edu/undergraduate/minors/) and their requirements.

## Declaring a Minor

Students can declare a CLAS minor using the [online program change form](https://undergraduate.clas.uconn.edu/academics/declare/).

Students declaring a minors offered by the [College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources (CAHNR)](https://uconn.kualibuild.com/app/6570949332976c013be7a0b8/run) or [School of Business (BUSN)](https://undergrad.business.uconn.edu/minors/declaration/) should follow the procedures established by those schools.

## Cancelling a Major, Minor, or Dual Degree

Students who wish to discontinue a double major, dual degree, or minor must submit the appropriate cancellation form through the Registrar’s Office.

If a student plans to declare a program in a different way (for example, changing a minor to a double major or dual degree), they must first cancel the existing program before submitting the new declaration.
