The University, College, and academic departments all administer scholarships and fellowships for undergraduate and graduate students. This page provides an overview of the different types of awards and points you to the appropriate resources and offices.
## College Scholarships and Fellowships
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences awards a variety of [scholarships and fellowships](https://clas.uconn.edu/academics/scholarships-and-fellowships/) to undergraduate and graduate students.
The application period typically opens at the start of the fall semester, and students apply through a centralized application managed by the CLAS Dean’s Office. Applications are reviewed by the College’s scholarship selection committee.
Students can view award descriptions in the application system during the application period.

## Department Scholarships
Many academic departments also award scholarships to their students. Departments manage their own application processes, selection criteria, and timelines.

## Foundation-Funded Scholarships
Scholarships awarded from UConn Foundation funds are subject to additional spending and stewardship requirements.
## Office of Student Financial Aid Services
The [Office of Student Financial Aid Services](https://financialaid.uconn.edu/faculty-and-staff/) administers University scholarships, oversees the scholarship and fellowship disbursement process, and provides resources for students and departments.

## Fundraising for Scholarships
Departments interested in creating or expanding scholarship opportunities should contact the CLAS development team. All fundraising activities must be coordinated through the UConn Foundation.
