The CLAS grade appeal process applies to undergraduate and graduate students appealing a final grade in a course offered by a department or academic unit within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS).

A grade appeal is appropriate when a student believes an error or failure in the grading process affected their final grade. Dissatisfaction with a grade alone is not sufficient grounds for an appeal. Whenever possible, students should first discuss their concerns with the course instructor before submitting a formal appeal.
