The <u>[UConn Foundation](https://www.foundation.uconn.edu/)</u> is an independent nonprofit organization that manages private gifts made in support of the University. Foundation accounts are separate from University accounts and follow different spending and reimbursement procedures. 

The [CLAS Business Center](https://facultystaff.clas.uconn.edu/portal/124?autoLogin=true) can help departments understand Foundation account guidelines, process Foundation disbursements, and coordinate with the UConn Foundation. 

## Foundation Account Reports 

The Foundation provides CLAS department administrators with monthly reports from the Foundation’s reporting system, FELIX, that display current account balances and other information for their Foundation funds. <u>[Review Foundation account balances.](https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/arm/webclient/index.html)</u>

## Request a Foundation Disbursement 

UConn Foundation accounts, created through philanthropic gifts, have different spending guidelines than University accounts. Any reimbursements from these funds to the University need to be expensed from the department’s 6-ledger Foundation accounts. Reimbursements should be made through the <u>[Foundation RFD system](https://login.uconn.edu/cas/login?service=https://extranetrfd.foundation.uconn.edu/home.aspx)</u>. The Business Center processes all reimbursements to University 6-ledger accounts on a quarterly basis.
